Lexington's 300th starts tomorrow, but here are a few things you need to know today.

1. Lexington's 300th Kicks Off Tomorrow: The nine-month party begins tomorrow, with the Opening Ceremony, the All-Town Picnic & Country Fair, the Lexington 300th Dance Revolution and more. 2. Art-a-Blooming in Lexington: Under the collaborative leadership of Shirley King of LACS and of Harriet Hathaway and Kate Gill of LFGC, Lexington has its own local version of Art-in-Bloom on display at the Lexington Arts & Crafts Society. Visitors will view 34 unique floral interpretations arranged by Lexington Field & Garden Club designers of a variety of beautiful works of art created by Lexington Arts & Crafts Society members. Get Your Stitch On

If you knit, quilt, make costumes or clothes, crochet or are into any other form of fiber arts, then the 300th's Fiber Arts Committee wants you. They're meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday May 6 at St. Brigid's Parish Center.

The following was provided by the Lexington 300th Committee. If you sew, knit or stitch, and want to get involved in getting ready for Lexington's 300th anniversary, the 300th's Fiber Arts Committee is meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday May 6 in the library in the St. Brigid's Parish Center. All are welcome and encouraged to participate. From Massachusetts Avenue, the Parish Center is the building to the left of the church. The library is the first room on the right as you enter through the front doors on Massachusetts Avenue. Town Meeting OKs White House Stabilization, Other Capital Projects

A quick recap of articles and actions taken up during the sixth session of Lexington's annual Town Meeting, held Wednesday, April 11 at Cary Hall.

Capital projects and plans were the main business April 11 as Town Meeting appropriated funds to stabilize a portion of the White House and to improve streets and sidewalks around Estabrook School. Here's a quick recap of those and other actions during Wednesday night's sixth session of Lexington's annual Town Meeting at Cary Hall. Article 12 – Appropriate for Municipal Capital Projects and Equipment What it asked: To fund a number of capital projects, including What happened:  The Estabrook off-site sidewalk and street improvements was pulled out as Town Moderator Deborah Brown recused herself from that item. Do you sew, knit or stitch? The Lexington 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee needs you.

The following was provided by the Lexington 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee. Looking for a fun way to help celebrate Lexington's 300th birthday of its incorporation? If you sew, knit or stitch, the 300th's Fiber Arts Committee is meeting at 3 p.m. April 1 at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society (LACS), 130 Waltham St.  All enthusiasts are encouraged to participate. Lexington's 300th: An Early Look at the Events Lineup

The Lexington 300th Celebrations Committee has provided an early look at its lineup of town-sponsored events.

It's not too early to mark your calendar with the events you want to attend during Lexington's nine-month celebration of the 300th anniversary of its incorporation as a town. A variety of events are planned to appeal to all ages and tastes, according to Tanya Morrisett and Jessie Steigerwald, events co-chairs. Susan Rockwell chairs the 300th Committee. Most events are free, although there will be some fundraising events to offset the costs of the celebration.  Some events will require free ticketing due to space limitations. Lexington's 300th: Planning a Celebration for the Ages

A framework for the yearlong 300th anniversary festivities is coming together and organizers are planning to celebrate the town's past, present and future.

  Proud as it is of its storied past, Lexington will also honor its present and future during a nearly yearlong 300th Anniversary Celebration kicking off this September and culminating Memorial Day Weekend of 2013. A framework is shaping up with opening ceremonies beginning Sept. 22 of this year and closing ceremonies in the evening of Memorial Day, May 27 2013, but the people planning the festivities, members of the 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee, say there’s still room for volunteers and ideas to join the fun.
