Police Chief Mark Corr explains residents and businesses can expect to receive letters or calls soliciting money for the LPA. It is a private fundraiser, not endorsed by the town or department, according to Corr.
The following information was provided by Lexington Police Chief Mark Corr. In the next few weeks and months, residents and businesses will receive a letter or phone call from the Lexington Police Association soliciting money. This is a lawful private fundraiser. The Lexington Police Association represents patrol officers, detectives and sergeants who work for Lexington. The town of Lexington and the Police Department do not endorse, sponsor or otherwise take a position on these fundraising events. Tuesday, Sept. 6 5:11 a.m. – A call came in reporting a wire down on Wood Street. 11:30 a.m. – Lexington Police dispatched mutual aid to Woburn, where shots were fired after a jewelry heist gone bad in the Four Corners area. First responders from town participated in the active search for suspects, while others set up a perimeter on the Lexington side of the scene, police said. 4:15 p.m. – A librarian reported a suspicious male on the second floor of Cary Memorial Library was acting strangely and staring at young women. Bruins Coach Claude Julien, who has lived in Lexington since joining the Bs in 2007, brought the Stanley Cup to the Lexington Police Station for photo ops with the folks who serve his community.
Boston Bruins Coach Claude Julien and the Stanley Cup spent Wednesday afternoon at the Lexington Police Department. Julien, who has lived in town since joining the Bs in 2007, brought the Cup to the station because they thought the people who serve the community deserve the chance to see it. From about noontime through 2 p.m., members of the LPD, Fire Department and Post Office, along with members of their immediate families, filed through the LPD. Some got up close and personal with the Cup, while others cautioned young hockey players not to touch it, lest they curse their chances of claiming the NHL championship one day. “It doesn’t get old.
