Would it be Scott Brown? Congressmen Markey or Capuano? Tell us who you think should run.
The Washington Post is reporting that President Obama is considering appointing Massachusetts U.S. Sen. John Kerry as the Secretary of Defense. There was speculation Kerry would become the next Secretary of State. Either way Kerry's move to possibly become a member of Obama's cabinet will open up his current seat. Should he be appointed, a special election would be held to finish out Kerry's term, which expires in 2014. Conversation from the breakfast table this morning to the morning commute has everyone talking - who will run for Kerry's U.S. Senate seat if he's appointed? Could it be Scott Brown? Or maybe Congressmen Ed Markey or Michael Capuano? Only time will tell, but we know you're talking about it. So tell us, who do you think …

Certain road signs around Lexington have been spray-painted with the last name of the nation’s 44th President.
A tag line they like to use here in Lexington is “birthplace of American liberty,” but at least one rebellious local appears to be confusing free speech with vandalism. According to police reports, Stop signs around town have been spray-painted with Obama beneath the traffic command so as to read “Stop Obama,” in an apparent exhibition of lack of support for President Barack Obama. The Department of Public Works Highway Division reported several vandalized and damaged Stop signs at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27. The police report identifies Bedford Street and Sunnyknoll Terrace as possible areas where Stop signs had been tagged with Obama. However, it’s unclear when the tagging actually occurred as the report came in well after-the-fact, …

The terror leader was killed in a town outside of Islamabad, Pakistan, Obama said.
President Obama confirmed just before midnight Sunday that U.S. troops killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. Looking at online databases, it's unclear if any Lexington residents were killed in the Sept. 11, 2011 attacks, but several residents from nearby communities -- including Bedford, Belmont, Winchester and Concord -- lost their lives that day. The president addressed the nation in a televised speech from the East Wing of the White House. "I can report to the American people and to the world, that the U.S. has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden," Obama said. "Shortly after taking office, I directed … the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority," said the president…

Markey challenges Obama to use strategic petroleum reserve.
Standing in front of the pumps at a Medford gas station Wednesday, Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., challenged President Barack Obama to deploy the federal strategic petroleum reserve to combat skyrocketing crude oil prices. "The president should begin now to deploy the strategic petroleum reserve," said Markey, who represents communities in the 7th District, including Lexington. "We have 730 million barrels of oil, if we are ever going to use it as a weapon to protect ourselves against Saudi Arabia, against Libya, against speculators, now is the time." Saudi Arabia has taken 800,000 barrels of crude oil per day off the global market, and Libya removed 1.2 million barrels, Markey said. Barrels of oil were trading for over $112 Wednesday on the…
