LETTER: Molly's Family Says Thanks for the Volley

On the second anniversary for Molly Eisenberg's passing, from ovarian cancer at age 19, her family members are amazed how the annual Volley for Molly has been embraced by the community and surrounding towns.

Words always seem to fail us when it comes time to describe the appreciation we have for the annual Volley for Molly event, held last month at Lexington High School. All those in the stands are in awe of what Lexington High School Volleyball Coach Jane Bergin, her coaching staff and her committee of volunteers have accomplished the last three years. It means so much to Molly's peers, to the volleyball alumni, to their parents and to the new, younger generation of attendees, to come, to watch the games, to hear the crowd roar and to see a competitive girls' sport, perhaps for the first time. On the second anniversary for Molly's passing, Oct, 21, we are amazed at how this family night has been embraced by the greater Lexington community and…

Molly, who attended Lexington High School, lost her battle with ovarian cancer at 19 in 2009.  “Our school is a proud member of Team Molly and I felt it was a nice time to celebrate her memory and promote ovarian cancer awareness,” said Donato. …
