OMGPD: Bike-for-Car Swap, Dog-Bites-Donkey, a Chill Car Chase & More Police Oddities

It's a Dog-Bite-Donkey World Out There An Estabrook Road resident reported encountering a woman on her Concord property who was walking her dog off-leash. The caller said the other woman's dog ran up to her donkey and "play bit" its rear end, not causing any injury. Monday, May 6 8:36 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Marrett Road and Route 128/95. 9:33 a.m. – Copper downspouts were reportedly stolen from Follen Road. 12:08 p.m. – A land survey marker was reportedly removed from a property on Lantern Lane. 6:21 p.m. – A larceny was reported on Forest Street. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents at the intersection of Bedford St and Worthen Rd. Cars traveling northbound on Bedford St often run the red light, I guess because it comes just after the flashing yellow fire station signal, and for whatever reason they just don't see that the intersection signal is red.   The Music Was Not Loud Enough... A Burlington man was arrested on May 5 after he allegedly drove under the influence of alcohol and fell asleep behind the wheel of his car in Newton Corner. According to Newton Police reports, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Washington Street and Centre Street for reports of a male party asleep behind the wheel of a red Mercedes. When officers arrived, they found the car stopped at the traffic signal, just before the on-ramp to the Mass Pike. Reports said the driver was asleep behind the wheel with the doors locked and loud music playing. The vehicle was running and in neutral. Monday, May 1 9:59 p.m. – Police executed a warrant on Waltham Street and arrested Scot R. McDevitt, 22, of 483 Waltham St., Lexington, on charges of with larceny from a building. McDevitt, according to police, is accused of stealing cash from the register at a Dunkin’ Donuts where he worked. Thursday, May 2 7:37 p.m. – An online advertisement led police to a hotel on Marrett Road and, as a result of the investigation, Samantha A. Friday, April 26 10:15 a.m. – A Ward Street resident reported receiving emailed threats associated with an incident that occurred in China. Police informed the resident of their options.   1243 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious motor vehicles in the area of Bedford Street. 5:29 p.m. – Officers responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in which a truck was stuck at the end of the road in the area of Bedford Street and Cider Mill Lane.
