Lexington’s 300th: Behold the Golden Tricorns

Forget ‘Game of Thrones.’ We’ve got Game of Golden Tricorns.

  Like leaves on trees and budding flowerbeds, tricorn hats are a harbinger of springtime in Lexington. Except only this year they’re going to look at little different. As part of Lexington’s 300th anniversary celebration and the LexCelebrate! Incorporation Weekend, a smattering of the three-cornered hats will have a golden hue on Saturday, March 16, as a dozen event organizers will don decorated hats and additional golden gilded tricons will be displayed in the art wing at Lexington High. Following the LexCelebrate! Festivities, the golden tricorns will disappear, temporarily, to become a part of a townwide game of hide-and-seek. Lexington's 300th: A Look at Opening Day Ceremonies

Country Fair, Race Through Time, Blue Ribbon Contests and more fun-filled festivities are on tap for Sept. 22.

The folllowing was provided by the Lexington 300th Committee. As part of the Opening Day Events, on Sept. 22, Lexington 300th's Country Fair will feature activities, performances, contests and handicrafts for all to enjoy. The Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. There's still time to sign up for the Blue Ribbon Contests which showcase the gardening and cooking talents of your Lexington neighbors, including special categories for children. Judges will taste delectable entries such as family favorite corn dishes and tastiest tomato, and size up the wildest sunflower or oddest homegrown vegetable. 1. Lexington Citizens' Acadmey Coming Up: The fourth annual Lexington Citizens’ Academy will begin in mid-September. The 10-session Academy is specifically designed to familiarize citizens with the departments and services of Town government.
