Lexington: What Were the Best Super Bowl Commercials?

Which were the best Super Bowl commercials of 2013? Which were the worst?

Millions of sports enthusiasts around the world and in Lexington watched Super Bowl 47 on Sunday. Likely, many tuned in just to watch Super Bowl commercials, just like they do every year. According to Ad Age, CBS essentially sold out its ad inventory for Super Bowl XLVII at prices averaging between $3.7 million and $3.8 million. More from Ad Age: The usual coterie of big sponsors is more or less on board again —hello, Pepsi! hello Bud Light! — accompanied by opportunistic, smaller brands that want to make a big splash, such as Century 21 and GoDaddy.com, both of which are also returning to the game. In addition to Ms. Patrick and Mr. Fogle, celebrities and pseudo-celebs on the ad roster will include Willem Dafoe, Amy Poehler, Bar Refaeli…

These two different but equally yummy dips are verified crowd-pleasers.

"Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority." ~Vince Lombardi Well here we find ourselves looking back on another Super Bowl Sunday. Sure, it was a letdown for New England to watch the Patriots fall to the New York Giants for the second time in five years, but hopefully you had some great food to temper the bitter taste of defeat. Delicious dips and inventive apps almost always go over well when entertaining or heading out to watch the big game, awards show or event with friends and family. Here are two dips that are sure to please...whatever the occasion or venue. Slow Cooker Reuben Dip Ingredients: Directions: Easy Microwave Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients: …

POLL: What Were Your Favorite Super Bowl Ads?

What were your favorite ads from Super Bowl 46? Take our poll or share your pick in the comments section below.

The Patriots’ last-minute drive wasn’t the only thing that fell short last night during Super Bowl 46. This year’s lineup of advertisements was like Gronk’s ankle: questionable. And today, as the Monday morning quarterbacks out there rehash Tom Brady’s imperfections, plenty of casual fans around coffee shops and water coolers will be dissecting the commercials, as well. While the immediate reaction was that this year’s ads collectively didn’t stack up against some storied lineups from the past, a few have been garnering positive reviews across the interwebs. Bud Light, for instance, played to both frat boys and animal lovers in its ad featuring Weego, a rescue dog who brings cold ones when called.  And the brown M&M scored points for …

On Super Bowl Sunday, football diehards and casual observers everywhere gear up for the big game. But with the Patriots playing for the NFL, we expect fans in these parts to go the extra mile. Is Anyone in Lexington Super Bowl Bound?

The Patriots are shipping off to Indy today for the big game next Sunday. If you're following them, we want to help you share the journey with your fellow residents.

It certainly wasn't easy, but the New England Patriots are off to Indianapolis for Super Bowl 46. The local team needed a pass break up in the end zone and a missed field goal in the final seconds to clinch an AFC Championship victory over the Baltimore Ravens last week. Their reward? A chance for redemption against the New York Giants, who destroyed New England's perfect season in Super Bowl 42 thanks to a few improbable plays and a last-minute touchdown. So we want to know. Is anyone in Lexington making the trip to Indiana to take in the big game? If so, we want to hear your story and share it with your fellow residents. Since the majority of Lexington residents will be watching on their televisions, you can help them feel like they're …
