Today, Jan. 19, the Lexington Center salon celebrates its first anniversary.
First birthdays are kind of a big deal – especially when you’re a hair salon new to Lexington. Hair Cuttery is celebrating the first anniversary of its Lexington Center store this morning, Jan. 19, with a continental breakfast and additional plans that are still TBD. The breakfast will be served from 9 to 11 a.m. Christine Sanchez, the salon leader in Lexington, said the community has embraced Hair Cuttery, and her highlights the inaugural year have been participating in community events. “The people of Lexington definitely welcomed us and made us feel comfortable,” she said. “When they come in here, we feel like family with them.” Through its first year, Sanchez said Hair Cuttery has enjoyed a good mix of new and returning customers, …

A wave of pink is flooding stores everywhere, as retailers participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the savvy shopper, it's an opportunity to donate to a good cause while snagging unique, pink-hued items. A haircut from Hair Cuttery gives a haircut to a child in need.

Children receiving a back-to-school haircut at the Hair Cuttery salon in Lexington during the first two weeks of August will be giving one back to a disadvantaged child in the community. Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, is launching its 13th annual Share A Haircut program to provide children in need with a fresh haircut to start the new school year. From Aug. 1 to Aug. 15, every time a child (18 or younger) receives a haircut at any of the Hair Cuttery salons in New England, including the salon in Lexington, a free hair cut will be donated to a disadvantaged child in the community.
