His Death Was Senseless, But Dave Caouette's Life Was Full of Purpose (PHOTOS)

Friends and family gather to fondly remember the final victim in last week's shooting rampage.

Even as they struggle with the senselessness of his death, friends and family of salon shooting victim David Caouette comforted themselves Monday with the knowledge that he lived without regrets. Known for his sense of adventure and colorful tales of travel and off-roading, Caouette, a Lexington native, had his priorities in line, according to those who knew him. He loved a good story, good wine, good food and good company – but, most of all, he was dedicated to his family. Lexington Native Slain in Seal Beach Massacre

Mass killing in California touches Lexington family.

David Caouette, 64, grew up on Balfour, right off Cedar Street. He and his siblings went through the Lexington School system and Caouette graduated from Lexington High School in 1966. During those years, he played football, belonged to the school's Varsity Club and was part of the Leader Corps. He married his high-school sweetheart, Paula, and they eventually had three children and moved to California.   On Wedesday, Oct. 12,  Caouette was sitting inside his Land Rover in a parking lot in Seal’s Beach, Orange County, California when a gunman exited the Salon Meritage. Allegedly, the gunman had already killed seven and injured one person before leaving the salon. Before ending what some are calling the worst killing spree in Orange County …
