Police Log: Turtle Crossing, Vandalism, One Arrest

The following information from July 9 to July 12 was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction

Monday, July 9 7:25 a.m. – Kind-hearted police officers responded to East Street for a turtle in the roadway. Apparently the land reptile wanted to cross. No hazard was found and the turtle made its way safely. 3:45 p.m. – Police responded to Webb Street to a report of vandalism to a moped. The resident said the damage occurred over the last week. The case is under investigation. Tuesday, July 10 2:00 a.m. – Vandals threw an object through a bay window at an Oakland Street resident. The object was some sort of electrical component for an irrigation system. The case is under investigation. Wednesday, July 11 7:20 a.m. – A transformer explosion occurred near Waltham Street and Marrett Road, causing a power outage in the area. Police called …
