Crime reports, wicked weather and an electric announcement this week in Lexington.

 Was a bit of a wild week in Lexington as talk about the weather wasn’t idle chatter and state officials made an electric announcement on the Battle Green. Monday morning, Patch published a video of Meadow Mist Farm’s John Moriarty, talking about his portable chicken coop and other integrated farming practices. We also warned about an alleged sweepstakes scam so comprehensive it sent a cab to one resident’s home. Tuesday’s stories included a report on continued larcenies at Boston Sports Club and an About Town column featuring Andrew Ference of the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins, who was in Bedford signing books. Five Things You Need to Know Today: June 9

Another scorcher in Lexington, and this one with several meetings and a walk in Willard Woods.

1. Wake up with the Tree Committee.  They'll meet at 7:30 a.m. this morning at the DPW Building and the agenda includes tree warden items and commemorative tree issues. 2. Also meeting early is Lexington's 2020 Vision Committee, which comes together at 7:45 a.m. this morning at the Town Office Building. The agenda includes suggesting to the selectmen key areas of concern, need and opportunity in comeing years and planning for revalidating goals and objectives. 3. The Citizens for Lexington Conservation will host a "Six-legged Safari For Kids" at Willard's Woods. The walk runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and beings at the Brent Street entrance to the woods. 4.
