Adieu to Macaron Sweeterie

After only two years in town, Macaron Sweeterie is closing up shop. 

According to its website and Patch readers, the East Lexington dessert specialists are closing their doors to move on to a new adventure.  

"It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing sooner then we expected, that we will be closing Macaron Sweeterie," the website says. "It has been a great journey, and we cannot possibly express enough how much we have enjoyed getting to know everyone. However, our decision for closing is due to us moving onto our next adventure!"

There was no answer Wednesday afternoon at the store's listed phone number, and the answering machine was not accepting voicemails. However, Sella Abalian, who opened Macaron Sweeterie in early 2011, promised to post a link "to what's next" on the Macaron Sweeterie website.

Macaron Sweeterie was located at 848 Mass Ave. They offered many-flavored macarons, gelatos and other sweet treats.
