Metropolitan Wind Symphony Concerts in the Park

 



The Metropolitan Wind Symphony will continue their 42nd season with 3 Free traditional outdoor Band Concerts on Thursday July 11, 18, and 25, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, at Hastings Park, Levi Burnell Bandstand, Mass. Ave. and Worthen Road, Lexington, MA. MWS Music director Lewis J. Buckley will conduct the varied music programs, which will have something for all tastes. Selections will include Stars and Stripes Forever and Hands Across the Sea by John Philip Sousa, Liberty Fanfare and Hymn to the Fallen by John Williams, America the Beautiful arranged by Carmen Dragon, Star Spangled Spectacular by George M. Cohan, Star Trek: The Motion Picture arranged by Warren Barker, Armed Forces Medley and Tribute to Doc (Severinsen) and Dixieland Live! and America’s Bravest, America’s Finest by Lewis J. Buckley, American Salute by Morton Gould, Jubilant Overture by Alfred Reed, Joy Revisited and Vesuvius by Frank Ticheli, Star Dust by Hoagy Carmichael, and O Cool is the Valley by Vincent Persichetti. Patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and to picnic while enjoying the concerts. The concerts will be held, weather permitting.
